Mooroopna Place will be a new 100 bed home for residents of the Mooroopna area as part of a $20m redevelopment of Rodney Park. While the refurbishment of Mooroopna Place is coming along nicely – sadly our fundraising for the building has slowed over the last few months.
This year has been a tricky one for fundraising. We’ve missed the opportunities for our Independent Living Unit (ILU) social groups to hold their regular fundraisers and we’ve missed the gatherings as a result of these.
Like everywhere, funds are in short supply for anything other than essentials, however we committed to the Mooroopna Place building well before COVID-19 and now we must complete the project to the standard that our residents deserve.
Aged Care is suffering financially across the board – with more than 60% of regional aged care providers not making a profit.
If you think you can assist with a tax deductible donation towards the Mooroopna Place building - we would love to hear from you. Or, if you would prefer your donation to go elsewhere within the Shepparton Villages organisation, we can ensure that happens.
All our facilities are in constant need for upgraded equipment and we greatly appreciate any donation towards any of our facilities.
We wish to thank all our generous supporters and wish them a very safe and happy Christmas.
Everyone deserves a place to call home and we want to deliver the best possible home for our residents that mirrors the quality provided at Maculata Place.
Donations to Shepparton Villages are TAX DEDUCTIBLE and will go towards fitting the building with soft furnishings, televisions, equipment and the finishing touches that will provide all the comforts of home.
Shepparton Villages Board President Frank Dawson said:
“It’s important for people to remember that funding for buildings is separate from funding for care and while Shepparton Retirement Villages has had no additional government support for buildings and infrastructure, it is committed to providing the highest standard possible for both accommodation and care. We continue our call on the Federal Government to review and assist with the funding model for care within the aged care sector. Meanwhile, we need to fund the building at Mooroopna and are calling on the generous people of the Goulburn Valley to assist us.”
