Independent Living Units

Each unit has natural lighting and is beautifully appointed with a bright modern kitchen and roomy bathroom. Quality floor coverings and window furnishings are supplied and a specially selected colour scheme makes for a pleasant and restful ambience.

To gain occupancy to one of our units, a resident purchases a "licence to reside" by way of a loan to Shepparton Villages. Some of the loan is retained by Shepparton Villages. Details are available from Shepparton Villages Administration.

Other Information

Definition of "Ageing in Place"

Ageing in Place is a Federal Government initiative that allows residents to remain in their hostel as their frailty increases. This has become a Shepparton Villages policy enabling residents to remain with friends and carers they know. Of course when residents require complex nursing, a nursing home and not a hostel is the appropriate facility in which these services are provided.

Residential Aged Care Facilities

To be eligible for care at our three aged care facilities Waratah Lodge, Grevillea Lodge and Boronia House you will need to be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Service. A referral from your general practitioner will facilitate this. You can contact the Aged Care Assessment Service direct on (03) 5823 6000.

Respite Care

A limited number of Respite Care Beds are available at Tarcoola and Rodney Park Villages. This service provides temporary relief for persons in the community caring for the frail aged. Enquiries and reservations for Respite Care are through the Admissions Co-ordinator, Administration Building, Tarcoola Village or by telephoning (03) 5832 0800.
